With Spring just around the corner, Fall and Winter seem like a long ways away, but the fashion world is already two seasons ahead! February saw a total of three fashion weeks. This year New York’s Fashion Week was kicked off with Men’s Fall and Winter fashion followed by Women’s Fall and Winter fashion, and Milan’s Fashion week has just wrapped up.
That’s a whole LOT of fashion. How does the layman even begin to understand what it all means for our closets? (Answer: by reading this article, that’s how!)
First up: Men’s Fall/Winter Fashion (New York)
Let me just say how much I fully support the fact that Men’s fashion was front and center in New York. Hashtag Progress. Hashtag MenTakeNote. From flashy metallics to futuristic uniformity, men’s fall and winter looks somehow straddle the past and the future.

Women’s Fall/Winter Fashion (New York)
Women’s fall and winter fashion has a rich, baroque feel to it: velvets and embellishments and metallics. Designers continue to channel the 60s and 70s with wide-legged pants and retro prints, and 90s-esque vampy goth and punk looks make a comeback.
Blues, Deep Reds, Ink Blacks, Crisp Whites, Metallics, Color Mash-Ups

Women’s Fall/Winter Fashion (Milan)
By now, you might start noticing a trend in looks: military, punky, folksy with a dash of futuristic flash here and there. Milan’s fashion week offered up its own take on these looks. I’m personally digging the breton stripes, pretty pastels, and bold black and white graphics.

It’s never too early to start thinking ahead to Fall and Winter. What are you looking forward to wearing?
