Linkqlo is a Palo Alto-based technology startup that is building an innovative mobile community to connect people with better fitting clothes. We’re solving an industry-wide pain point for both consumers and fashion brands in retail shopping, sizing and fitting, just like Paypal took on the online payment challenge in 1999. Our app is available for download now in App Store (http://linkqlo.com/app). The next few months will see us focus on building up our iOS app with more features and functionalities to accelerate user acquisition. You’ll be an early member of an exciting pre-Series A startup in a fast-changing interesting space – fashion/apparel/retail, that is on a mission to redefine the way people discover and shop for clothes. We are looking for a committed full-time Full-Stack Haskell Software Engineer to integrate our iOS front-end client with the server, develop new product features, build and maintain robust and highly available database, design and develop HTML5 web site, and ensure high-performance and responsiveness of the entire system.

About You

  • You LOVE Haskell and want to build everything with Haskell
  • You have incredible coding skills and can turn ideas into extremely fast and reliable code
  • You are comfortable in working in an early-stage startup environment to quickly expand your skill set with increasingly substantial responsibilities
  • You buy into our vision and are interested in using the product for your own benefit
  • You are capable of designing and coding the whole web project yourself or supervising others to perform the tasks by overlooking the whole process from scratch to finish
  • You aspire to steer web projects in the right direction utilizing the best practices and latest advancements in the technology
  • You have excellent written and verbal English
  • You have legal status to work in U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Development of server side logic to integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers
  • Management of hosting environments AWS EC2/S3 and Docker, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes
  • Building reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Implementation of security and data protection
  • Designing and implementing data storage solutions
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system

Requirements

  • Expert in Haskell and experienced in one or more other web programming languages of Python/PHP/Ruby/Node.js/Java
  • Proficiency in data migration, transformation, backup and scripting
  • Fluency in popular web application frameworks (back-end is a must, front-end is a plus)
  • CS bachelor’s degree or an equivalent background in software engineering
  • Minimum three years of industrial experience in consumer web technology companies
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Understanding accessibility and security compliance
  • Knowledge in user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
  • Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
  • Mastery knowledge and use of code versioning tools including Git (Gitlab/Github)
  • Understanding of “session management” in a distributed server environment
